Daybreak Mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to holistic development and empowerment of the Zambian people.  As our name suggests, we are endeavoring to pioneer a new approach to helping the people of Zambia.

Daybreak is unlike most Christian and humanitarian organizations that have come before as we attempt to avoid all such efforts that foster foreign dependency.  Our goal is to empower local people with the knowledge and training that they need to take responsibility for improving the future of their lives and that of their children.

Daybreak is also different from most Christian ministries in that we seek a true balance between the physical (humanitarian) and spiritual dimensions of ministry.  Ours is an integrated (holistic) approach to transformation and empowerment.

What  We  Do

Bible College

Daybreak Bible College (DBC) was started for the purpose of training spiritual leaders in holistic ministry (body and spirit).  The goal is to empower men and women with the skills necessary to make a difference in their local communities.

Agriculture

Farm land is one of the greatest resources that the local people have.  It offers the greatest opportunity for Zambians to use what they already have (land and time) to improve the quality of their lives.

Healthcare

A 2014 U.N. report ranked Zambia as the most malnurished county in Africa (second in the world behind Haiti).  Although we have provided medical assistance in the past, our primary focus currently is on preventive care as this is what will make a long-term difference in the well-being of the Zambian people.

Community Projects

Periodically, Daybreak provides assistance to local communities in agriculture, building of community schools, distribution of maize seed, and drilling of shallow water wells.

Kerin's Kids

Kerin's Kids is a ministry dedicated to providing temporary care and assistance to orphans and vulnerable children whose families find themselves unable to provide adequate care for them.

Education

Our education ministry focuses on three areas of need in Zambia: (a) Development of Community Schools, (b) Training Community School Teachers, and (c) Cirricuculm Development for Community Schools.

Marriage & Family

As more Zambians move to urban areas and transition from arranged marriages to love marriages (choice), the stability of the family relationships has been undermined by modernism.  New relational skills are now needed to meet the challenges of modern life.
